Floor Reading Lamps
A reading lamp is one of the most important lamps in the home when it comes to function. Without good lighting, that relaxing moment on the bed or sofa can turn into a nightmare. At Nordiska Galleriet you will find functional lamps in a variety of styles from the first half of the 20th century to today.
A lamp that has been around for over 90 years and is as relevant today as when it was first launched is the popular Bestlite floor lamp, designed by Briton Robert Dudley Best. The lamp is now in production thanks to Gubi and is available in a number of different designs and models. A lamp launched 30 years after Bestlite is Arne Jacobsen's popular AJ floor lamp. The lamp was originally designed for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, a project the Danish designer had full control over from architecture to interior design. The AJ Floor Lamp fits very well into contemporary interiors with its sleek design and stylish expression. Another design classic that should not be forgotten is the Gräshoppa floor lamp, or Grasshopper as it is also known, designed in 1947 by Greta Magnusson Grossman. In Sweden it was originally produced by Bergboms, but is now in production by the Danish company Gubi. The lamp is characterized by its sloping stand, which gives the impression that the lamp is in motion. These design classics are just a few examples of the many lamps we offer at Nordiska Galleriet for both homes and offices.
