What does original mean?

Original means that the item is made in the brand's licensed factory based on the designer's vision and sketches. Every detail is carefully considered and adds to the whole. The materials used are of the highest quality and have been selected for their specific characteristics and expression. The solid craftsmanship behind each piece ensures that your furniture will last for many years.

Unfortunately, there are many more or less successful copies circulating on the market and it can be tricky to distinguish what is genuine and what is not. Some copies are even sold at the same price as the originals and are very cleverly made, which can fool even a trained eye. It could be a screw that is different, a frame that is bent slightly differently or a stamp that is missing. Usually a copied item is cheaper and has a poorer quality. A good guideline to go by is that if something seems too good to be true, it usually is!

A piece of designer furniture often comes with a serial number, sometimes this is embedded in the frame along with the brand logo and/or the designer's signature, sometimes it is in the accompanying documentation. This differs between brands, so we recommend that buyers contact the brand directly and ensure that a store is an authorised retailer before making a purchase.
