Piero Lissoni
The Italian architect Piero Lissoni was born in 1956. Like many other famous Italian architects and furniture designers, Lissoni studied at the Polytechnic University of Milan. In 1986, a year after graduating, he set up his own design studio for industrial, interior and graphic design.

Lisoni's design principle is never to design for a separate person or function, but for people. Piero Lissoni's forms are very precise and he often uses clean lines. Because of this, his designs are more reminiscent of Scandinavian designers than their Italian colleagues. His designs are often turnkey solutions, i.e. full-scale interiors for hotels, offices, yachts, and more. However, he is best known for his furniture and can be counted among Italy's leading designers. Lissoni has designed for brands such as Kartell, Flos, Fritz Hansen, Cassina, B&B Italia, Alessi and Cappellini to name but a few. Lissoni's awards include the Red Dot Award and the Compasso d'Oro ADI.
