Eilersen’s story began in Denmark when a young Niels Eilersen built carriages for horse and wagon transport. As automobiles took over, the company transitioned to producing handcrafted car bodies. After a fire in the 1930s, Eilersen pivoted to furniture production – a move that would come to define the brand’s future.

Since then, the company has evolved into a leading producer of sofas and seating furniture, with a strong focus on comfort, quality, and form. A Family Company Across Generations

In the 1970s, Eilersen celebrated its 75th anniversary by launching the iconic 75/76 Peabag sofa, designed by Andreas Hansen. Shortly after, Jens Juul Eilersen – the fourth generation of the family – joined the company as a designer. Among them are the sofas Stratos, Arizona, and Alamo, the well-known Streamline series, and the lounge chair Control with adjustable recline and wheels for easy mobility.

In the early 2000s, Eilersen took on a more contemporary direction, initiating collaborations with names such as the architecture firm C.F. Møller and designer Morten Voss. These partnerships deepened the brand’s established design identity. Jens Juul Eilersen’s Baseline model is a clear manifestation of the brand’s vision – a sofa defined by simple elegance and clean lines, characteristics that have become hallmarks of Eilersen’s style.
