Akari 45X is a pendant lamp from Vitra designed by Japanese–American artist Isamu Noguchi in 1951. The lamp is supported by a structure of steel wires and is handcrafted from shoji paper, paper made from the bark of the mulberry tree.Akari 45X is part of the Akari lamp range, a range of lamps designed by Noguchi and handcrafted by Japanese artisans. Noguchi's work is artistically linked to abstract expressionism and his design style came to have a great influence on 1950s design.All the light sculptures in the Akari range are marked with a logo representing the sun and moon, reinforcing the authenticity of each product.
