Pelagus is an outdoor lounge chair from Fritz Hansen in Denmark, designed in collaboration with Stockholm-based Note Design Studio. The chair is part of the Pelagus collection, characterised by a contemporary, lightweight expression with a focus on comfort and versatility. Its design language is intended to feel equally at home in urban settings and close to nature.
The frame is made from solid teak and has an expression that references classic Scandinavian furniture design. The seat in weather-resistant Sling fabric creates a modern contrast with its lightweight and transparent construction. The reclined angle of the seat is designed for a relaxed sitting position, while the wide wooden armrests provide space for a book or a glass, for example. Pelagus is suited to a terrace, veranda or poolside setting and is designed for extended periods of relaxation. Note Design Studio’s holistic approach to product design is reflected in the interplay between materials, proportions and the chair’s surrounding environment.
