Selandia is a cushion from Fritz Hansen in Denmark, designed for furniture in the Selandia series. The series is known for its distinctive, soft curves and elegant Nordic design language with subtle French influences. The cushion follows the same balanced expression and is designed to complement the collection’s furniture when used outdoors.
Selandia is tailored to fit the series and features practical ties that keep the cushion in place. The upholstery is Oeko-Tex-certified, with high colourfastness and lightfastness as well as water- and dirt-repellent properties. The fabric is also resistant to mould and suitable for varying weather conditions. Inside the cushion is open-cell foam that allows water and air to pass through the material. The construction provides a short drying time after rain and a firm, comfortable feel designed to last over time. A separate version that meets local fire safety requirements is available for the UK market. It is made with flame-retardant cold foam and is not weather-resistant.
