Shane Schneck is a Chicago-born designer who, after ten years in Milan, founded Office For Design in Stockholm. He has collaborated with brands including Nike, Herman Miller and HAY. During the pandemic, he launched General Store, where he designed furniture and smaller objects in limited editions. For Nordiska Galleriet (NOGA), he designed the Grid coffee table.

Shane Schneck
Born in Chicago, Shane Schneck began his career in Milan, working as a senior industrial designer for Piero Lissoni. After a decade in Italy, he moved to Sweden and founded his Stockholm studio, Office For Design.
“Most of the projects I do begin with an idea of my own, rather than with a brief from a producer. Often there’s a material or something else I want to research and explore. I tend to start with ideas for things I would want to have myself.”
During the pandemic, Schneck launched the experimental platform General Store, developing and selling his own furniture and smaller objects in limited series.
Over the years, he has collaborated with Nike, Herman Miller and HAY on furniture, products and art direction. Among his best-known designs for HAY are the Ru Chair and Bernard Lounge Chair. Grid is his first collaboration with Nordiska Galleriet.
