Asplund - Swedish Design for International Environments

Brothers Michael and Thomas Asplund established Asplund in Stockholm in 1990 with the vision of creating functional furniture with high aesthetics and lasting design. Inspiration is drawn from Swedish heritage and Scandinavian simplicity. The brand focuses on developing sustainable products through close collaboration with prominent designers. Asplund contributes to Swedish design history through its characteristic furniture design, which precisely unites form and function.

Collaboration with Prominent Designers

Asplund collaborates with well-known Swedish architects and designers. The storage series Snow was launched in 1994 and is today a Swedish classic, designed by Jonas Bohlin and Thomas Sandell. The series is known for its clear design language, high quality, and wide range of applications. Designers such as Thomas Eriksson and architects Claesson Koivisto Rune have also contributed to Asplund's development and international presence.

Among Asplund's collaborations is also the design duo Anya Sebton and Eva Lilja Löwenhielm, who are behind the storage series Frame. The series includes cabinets, sideboards, chests of drawers, and storage units, characterized by clean lines and a combination of materials such as wood, metal, glass, and stone, complemented by leather details.

Asplund's Product Range

Asplund's range includes furniture, rugs, lighting, textiles, and accessories. The furniture is characterized by clean lines and carefully selected materials with a focus on function and durability. The Snö storage series, which includes chests of drawers and display cabinets, consists of modular and clearly structured products. The range also includes rugs designed by Pia Wallén, made from 100 percent New Zealand wool. These models are distinguished by hand-stitched seams and the characteristic cross pattern, a recurring hallmark in her design.

Tati is a furniture series designed by Broberg & Ridderstråle for Asplund in 2011. The series is characterized by rounded metal frames combined with tabletops in materials such as wood, stone, or glass. The Tati series includes tables, side tables, bedside tables, mirrors, and coat racks and is available in several materials and color finishes with a consistent constructive build.
