Lucia Eames Sunbirds Natural Jute Rug

Sunbirds Natural is a jute rug from the Spanish brand Nanimarquina. The rug is based on a motif by Lucia Eames and is based on her interest in studying nature up close and transferring organic forms into graphic compositions. The design has a central motif that spreads across the surface with a line that is related to calligraphy and traditional rugs.

The rug is made of 100% hand-woven jute, where the braided parts are joined with hand-sewn seams. The construction provides a structured surface with natural variations in the tone of the jute fibers. Jute is a biodegradable and recyclable natural fiber that can contribute to coolness during warmer periods and insulation during the rest of the year. The jute rug has a total height of 7 mm and a density of 13,950 yarns per square meter.
