Omer Arbel is the co-founder of Canadian lighting company Bocci and the designer behind the 57.6 floor lamp. The lamp has a slender body and round base of untreated brass or metal with a black, rubberized finish. In contrast to the minimalist frame, six lightbulbs are enclosed in unique glass domes. Using a technique commonly used to produce foam, Omer Arbel and Bocci have created air spaces of different sizes and configurations in a glass form. The result is glass domes whose shape evokes a rain cloud. The different air spaces are invisible when the floor lamp is switched off but come to life and reveal an inner universe when the lamp is switched off. The innovative manufacturing process makes each 57.6 Floor completely unique.
