Chair 611

Chair 611 from Artek is one of Alvar Aalto's early modern furniture designs, designed in 1929 and since then an integral part of Finnish design history. The chair's expression is characterized by a light and balanced construction where solid birch meets woven linen ribbons in the seat and backrest.

The flexible fabric shapes itself to the body and contributes to a flexible seating comfort, while the open construction gives the chair an airy and graphic expression. The combination of natural materials and well-thought-out proportions reflects Aalto's characteristic combination of function, craftsmanship and simplicity.

The chair has been in continuous production since its launch and is manufactured in Finland. The stackable construction makes the chair particularly versatile and allows for stacking of up to five chairs.
