Klong

The Swedish brand Klong was founded in 2000 by Eva Hjertberg in Lidingö, just outside Stockholm. Klong values timelessness, aiming to surprise and transform the obvious with something unexpected.

Founder Eva Hjertberg has a keen interest in color and form, but as she is not a designer herself, she collaborates with designers on behalf of Klong. The brand's first design collaboration was with Jonas Bohlin, one of Sweden's foremost designers, who created a collection of silverware that remains immensely popular today. The name Klong comes from the word "klong," which refers to a sound. Just like a sound that lingers, the company's vision is to create products that are timeless and enduring. 

Candleholders from Klong  

Klong’s candle holders are clear examples of the brand’s design philosophy. They combine function with a refined design language and are made from materials such as brass, steel and glass. The Constella series is a recurring feature, with candle holders that can be extended and adapted as needed. Gloria is also a popular model that works both as a centrepiece on the dining table and as a decorative detail in the room. The range also includes several models of Klong vases as well as oil lamps.

Klong places great emphasis on collaborating with designers, creators, and architects who dare to create their own expressions without following trends. Successful collaborations with Swedish interior architects, furniture makers, and designers have led Klong to produce everything from creative furniture for indoor and outdoor use, interior details, playful lighting, to stylish cutlery.

The Gloria candleholder is one of Klong's most popular products, with its spherical shape being a favorite around Christmas. Designed by Broberg and Ridderstråle, Klong continues to sell a variety of interior details with Swedish design that appeals to a broad customer base with diverse backgrounds and personalities. To celebrate 15 years since its founding, Klong introduced an innovative collection where each product has the potential to become a future classic. The challenge is to create products with unique and beautiful designs that add something unexpected and enduring.
