Filet is a serving platter from Gien, France, designed to present meals with a balanced and thoughtfully considered aesthetic. Its hand-painted decoration subtly frames each presentation, making the platter easy to combine with other pieces from Gien’s collections.
Crafted from earthenware and measuring 41 x 26.2 cm, the serving platter features a warm and lively surface created by the natural composition of sand, clay and kaolin. Its form is generous and functional, suited to everything from larger dishes to more elaborate presentations. Each piece is shaped and finished in Gien’s own workshops through a process involving multiple firings and a series of carefully executed stages carried out by experienced ceramic artisans. The result is a serving platter with subtle variations, where the handcrafted expression and material qualities contribute to a cohesive and enduring table setting.
