Bench 168B

Bench 168B is a generously proportioned bench from Artek, designed by Alvar Aalto. The characteristic construction combines a light expression with the stability that characterizes Aalto's furniture and makes the bench usable in both private homes and public environments.

The versatile shape means that Bench 168B can be used as a seat, storage or surface for displaying objects. It works freestanding in the room or placed along a wall and can also be combined with a bed or the rectangular Aalto table 83. In this way, the furniture can be adapted to different rooms and functions without losing its clear character. Despite its generous format, the bench is light and easy to move. At the same time, the construction is robust enough for long-term use, even in environments where furniture is exposed to high stress. Bench 168B is available with either a solid seat or an upholstered top, which gives the opportunity to choose the design according to the area of use and context.
