Chair 66 was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1935 for Artek. It is still a timeless icon and as modern today as it was then. The chair, like many of his other pieces of furniture and works, has become part of the collection of the Modern Museum of Arts in New York. Alvar Aalto wanted to create a chair with a higher back for extra comfort, which also gives Chair 66 a distinctive and individualistic design language. As in many other pieces of furniture by Alvar Aalto, his signature is clearly visible in the form of the slightly curved legs in an L that are attached to the back.
The chair is made of molded birch and is available in a variety of different colors for the seat and back. For requests for other designs, please contact the store and we will help you.
