Primitive Weave 1 wool rug

Primitive Weave 1 wool rug is a hand-knotted rug from the Franco-Italian brand cc-tapis. Designed by Chiara Andreatti, the piece is built on a contrast between the archaic and the structured – drawing inspiration from traditional Berber rugs and graphic elements of Viennese modernism.

The rug is crafted in Nepal by skilled artisans who combine flatweave sections with areas of varying pile heights. This composition results in a layered expression where technique and form come together in a tactile whole. Each rug is made by hand, resulting in subtle variations and a strong presence of craftsmanship.

Primitive Weave 1 is made of Himalayan wool with a cotton weave and features a density of approximately 60,000 knots per square meter. The color palette is subdued yet articulated, making the rug easy to integrate into both contemporary and classic interiors where texture and craftsmanship are central. The collection also includes Primitive Weave 3.
