Wegner J16 Stool is a stool designed in 1950 by Hans J. Wegner for Fredericia Furniture. The stool was originally designed as a complement to the classic rocking chair Wegner J16 Rocking Chair, but is just as suitable for use on its own as an extra seat or a resting surface. The stool is available in several designs to choose from. Its frame is made of walnut or oak in a number of different surface treatments. The seat is made of paper string, just like the seat on the rocking chair.
The footstool, just like the rocking chair, was created with inspiration from traditional Windsor furniture and the Shaker movement. Hans J. Wegner has combined several styles with his own design techniques when creating the footstool and the rocking chair.
