Bestlite BL10 - Wall lamp was designed by Robert Dudley Best in 1930. The lamp was originally used by tailors because of its flexible arm and ability to direct light without casting shadows. Today, the lamp is mainly used as a bedside table lamp or as a reading lamp in the living room where it adds character and elegance. The wall lamp is made with a chrome-plated steel base and a powder-coated aluminum lampshade.
An article in the Architects Journal referred to Bestlite as the first evidence of Bauhaus in Britain. Following the article, demand for the Bestlite range increased and when Winston Churchill personally chose the Bestlite BL1 Table Lamp for his desk, the range immediately gained iconic status.
