Tokyo Style - Kyoichi Tsuzuki Photo Book

This is a photo book from the Spanish publisher Apartamento, with photography by Kyoichi Tsuzuki. The book is a new edition of a cult work that was first published over thirty years ago. Tsuzuki's photographs provide an intimate and unsentimental insight into the real state of Tokyo homes - where chaos, character and personal expression coexist in every square meter. These are not idealized surfaces, but everyday spaces, photographed during two years of exploring the city's neighborhoods on a moped.

The edition is designed with respect for the original format and includes a newly written afterword by Tsuzuki, in which he reflects on the book's continued relevance in a more digitalized era. A foreword by author Barry Yourgrau highlights the homes as expressions of a particularly Japanese approach to the odd, the overloaded and the kawaii - the cute.

It is a visual journey through urban Japanese everyday aesthetics and a reminder of how homes can reflect identity, creativity and belonging.
