String metal shelf is a shelf from the Swedish brand String. It is part of the modular String System, designed by Nisse Strinning in 1949, where each component is built into a flexible structure.
The shelf is perforated and made of metal with a low edge of 2 cm. It is available in widths of 58 cm and 78 cm and in depths of 20 cm and 30 cm. Mounted in wire or plexiglass end panels of the corresponding depth, and can be easily moved if necessary. The thin edge makes it possible to combine the shelf with wooden shelves within the same system without visual conflict. The perforation enables the use of accessories such as hooks, rods or spears to adapt the function. The shelf works in everything from the kitchen to the hallway and workplace.
