Armchair 45

Armchair 45 is an armchair from Finnish Artek. The chair was designed in 1947 by Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto and has now been reintroduced into Artek's collection. The construction is based on a frame in molded birch veneer and solid Finnish birch, combined with several options for seat, back and armrests. The seat and back are available in solid birch, birch veneer, linen fabric or quilted leather with PU foam. The armrests can be left untreated as visible birch or provided with wrapped rattan, leather or leather with piping.

Armchair 45 can be used as a dining chair around the dining table, as a desk chair at a workplace or as an armchair in the living room. Alvar Aalto himself used a leather-covered version of the chair in his studio in Tiilimäki.
