CH621 Swivel Chair

The CH621 Swivel Chair is an office chair from the Danish furniture brand Carl Hansen. The chair was designed in 1948 by Hans J. Wegner, a Danish furniture designer whose work included nearly 500 chairs and was characterized by an interest in wood, carpentry and the combination of organic and industrial materials.

The CH621 Swivel Chair is one of the few swivel chairs Wegner designed and developed with a focus on ergonomics and sitting posture. The construction consists of a brushed stainless steel frame with an upholstered seat and backrest and armrests in oak. The model has been relaunched by Carl Hansen with updated features for today's work environment. The seat height is adjusted with a gas spring cylinder and lever mechanism, while a five-wheel base replaces the original model's four wheels and provides mobility at the workplace. The combination of adjustable height, swivel function and wheels makes the chair suitable for working at a desk.
