Design Monograph: Perriand Design Book

This designer monograph is part of a series that highlights influential architects, designers, brands and movements in the history of 20th and 21st century design. Each volume combines a historical and critical essay with a richly illustrated presentation of key works.

Perriand was a French architect and designer active in both furniture design and urban planning. For several years, she collaborated with Le Corbusier and participated in the development of furniture such as the Grand Confort chair, the B301 lounge chair and the pony-upholstered Chaise Longue. She also designed her own works such as the Nuage bookcase and was behind several buildings, including projects for the League of Nations in Geneva and facilities in the French Alps.

The book provides an introduction to her world of ideas and importance for modern design, with a focus on form, function and context.
