Dieter Rams - Let But Better Design Book

This new edition presents a revised version of a reference work on Dieter Rams and his influential view of industrial design.

Rams is considered one of the most significant designers of the 20th century and is particularly associated with the company Braun. This book does not focus on a complete documentation of his work, but on the ideas, methods and formal principles that characterized his production. Central to the book are the ten guidelines for good design that Rams formulated – including sustainability, clarity and restraint – and which still influence contemporary design theory.

The book is bilingual with text in English and German. It is relevant for designers, architects and others with an interest in minimalist product design. Rams' view of design as discreet, honest and functional continues to be a foundation for modern industrial design.
