Le Corbusier - Le Grand Biography

This is a visual biography of one of the most influential architects and designers of the 20th century. Almost two decades after its original publication, this classic monograph is now back in print. The book documents Le Corbusier's life and work through extensive material of sketches, photographs, correspondence and texts. Together, it provides an insight into a multifaceted creation that spans architecture, urban planning, furniture design and art – a legacy that continues to characterize modern design and architecture. The foreword is written by architectural historian Jean-Louis Cohen, while the chapter introductions come from Le Corbusier expert Tim Benton. The rich visual material is complemented by reflective texts that give depth to both the works and the person behind them.
