Poul Kjaerholm - Timeless Minimalism Design Book

This book presents a collection of furniture by Poul Kjærholm, a central figure in modern Scandinavian design.

Kjærholm was trained by Hans J. Wegner and developed a design language characterized by steel, stone and glass – rather than wood. His methodical and architectural approach earned him the title of “furniture architect”. This volume focuses on the private collection of Japanese collector and design historian Noritsugu Oda, with a particular focus on chairs.

The book contains around fifty works as well as archival material, drawings and photographs that follow Kjærholm’s career from the beginning until his death at the age of 51. It is an in-depth presentation of his austere aesthetics and constructive philosophy.
