The ES20 is a nutcracker from the Italian brand Alessi. The model was designed by Ettore Sottsass, a pioneering designer in 20th-century design, and went into production in 2024.
The nutcracker is made of beech wood and combines red and pink parts in a construction made up of different geometric shapes and volumes. The colors and shapes are central to Ettore Sottsass' design and create contrasts between the different components of the nutcracker.
The ES20 is developed to crack different types of nuts and combines mechanical function with a form where each part contributes to both use and visual expression.
