CH07 Shell Chair

The CH07 Shell Chair is an armchair from the Danish brand Carl Hansen designed by Hans J. Wegner. Wegner introduced the chair in 1963, but its distinctive, avant-garde expression received mixed reactions and production was limited due to the technical limitations of the time. When Carl Hansen relaunched the Shell Chair in 1998, it received a new impact and appreciation from a wider audience. The armchair is characterized by its light, floating shape with a wing-like seat and curved backrest held by a structure with three arched legs. The seat and backrest are made of molded veneer with padding that envelops the user in high comfort. The legs are laminated in several layers and the two front legs are formed from a single piece for stability and character. The armchair is part of Wegner's work to create furniture without a back, where the chair is equally beautiful from all angles.
