FH429 Signature Chair

The FH429 Signature Chair is an armchair from the Danish brand Carl Hansen designed by Frits Henningsen. Henningsen was a cabinetmaker who always made his own furniture and often started by shaping small models by hand. The frame for the FH429 was created in his workshop in Copenhagen and tested and adjusted for several months before the model was completed in 1954. Fewer than 20 examples were produced at the time, and it was not until 2015 that the chair was relaunched by Carl Hansen. The armchair is considered Henningsen's most pared-down design, where his focus on comfort and elegance is clearly evident in the soft, curved lines. The armchair's organic shape and floating armrests give an airy feeling that invites rest and reflection.
