The Noguchi Coffee Table is a coffee table designed by Isamu Noguchi in 1944. A 2 cm thick glass top with rounded edges rests on two identical wooden parts symmetrically placed at right angles to each other. The base is made of wood and is available in black ash, maple and walnut.
Noguchi's work is artistically linked to abstract expressionism and his design language came to have a major influence on 1950s design. His Coffee Table is today one of the manufacturer Vitra's most popular and iconic pieces of furniture. Noguchi himself spoke of the coffee table as the best piece of furniture he had ever designed.
