001 Dining Chair Black is a dining chair from Finnish brand Vaarnii. The chair is designed by Fredrik Paulsen and is part of Vaarnii’s 001 series made of solid pine, now presented in a black stain. The new finish gives the pine a darker and more architectural expression without hiding the material’s natural structure.
Vaarnii works exclusively with pine and has made it their mission to explore its potential through brutal and honest forms. The black finish is the result of a long development process in close collaboration with Finnish craftsmen. The staining enhances the grain and creates a warm, deep tone, sealed with an oil-based lacquer for durability and surface stability.
The natural surface is preserved by cleaning with a soft microfiber cloth. For routine care, only water is recommended.
