This interior design and art book presents Lilla Hyttnäs – the home of the artist couple Larsson in Sundborn – through new visual material and historical context. The book highlights the joint life's work that Carl and Karin created through architecture, color scheme and room design. When the couple returned to Sweden after several years abroad, the house in Dalarna became a place for artistic collaboration. Karin developed a free and functional interior design style, while Carl documented the home and family life in his watercolors. These motifs have become symbols of an idealized Swedish life and are spread all over the world. With styling by Elsa Billgren and texts that place the environment in a cultural-historical context, the book provides a new understanding of the home as an artistic project.
