This is a photo book from the Spanish publisher Apartamento. The book is being reissued almost two decades after it was first published in 2002 and is the second part of Dominique Nabokov’s series of interior portraits from big cities. The series began with New York Living Rooms and will conclude with Berlin Living Rooms. Using a Polaroid camera, Nabokov documents Parisian living rooms without adding or taking anything away. The result is an intimate cross-section of early 2000s Paris, with interiors belonging to Yves Saint Laurent, Nan Goldin, Gérard Depardieu, Carine Roitfeld, Yvon Lambert, Andrée Putman and several others. Nabokov describes his images as portraits – where the expression of the room speaks for itself. The book contains 132 pages of original photographs and a foreword by Andrée Putman.
