The Italian Interiors of Elsa Peretti Photobook

The book documents two of Elsa Peretti’s private Italian homes: Torre Avoltore in Porto Ercole and the apartment in Rome where she grew up. Through Estelle Hanania’s photographs, the reader is given a rare glimpse into interiors that were previously closed to the public. The rooms reflect Peretti’s aesthetic world – characterized by natural materials, terracotta tones and a personal selection of art, furniture and objects.

An introduction by Stefano Palumbo highlights Peretti’s long-standing collaboration with architect and set designer Lorenzo Mongiardino. The book concludes with a brief recollection by Dominique Nabokov from a visit to the tower in 2001.

Published in collaboration with the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation, this is the first book to focus exclusively on Elsa Peretti’s interiors. The apartment in Rome was photographed the day before the sale and the images show for the last time how she translated her artistic vision into the private space.
