The retro-filled Barstool 64 was created by Alvar Aalto in 1936 for the Finnish furniture manufacturer Artek. Barstool 64 is a refinement of the classic E60 stool designed in 1933 by Alvar Aalto. The E60 stool came to represent the primordial concept of functional furniture design with its simple form and clean lines. The idea behind the iconic stools is based on four long legs assembled with a round seat. The secret lies in the unique curvature of the legs, which later became a distinctive feature of all Alvar Aalto's furniture.

Bar stool 64 is made entirely of beech and is a highly functional stool that can be used as a side table and, of course, as a regular stool. The bar stool is available in two heights and a variety of options and the most classic is made entirely of wood. Several versions have been developed during the year, including a black linoleum seat and a white laminate seat, a fully lacquered seat in several colors and a version with a clear seat.
