PD2 Floor Lamp is a floor lamp designed by Corsini Millet in 1955 and produced by Gubi. The lampshade and base are available in matte black or matte white. Matching fabric-covered cord in white or black. The lampshade is made of perforated metal in a cylindrical shape held up by narrow metal legs that bend and create new patterns, depending on the perspective from which the lamp is viewed. A simple but effective floor lamp for both home and office. The lamp can be dimmed. Lightbulb not included.
In 1955, Barba Corsini was given the opportunity to convert the attic of Antoni Gaudi's Casa Milà into 13 modern apartments. Corsini also created the interior, taking inspiration from the characteristic building. In 1991, it was decided that the apartments would be demolished and restored according to Gaudi's earlier design. During the demolition phase, most of the interior was discarded, but architect Joaquim Ruiz Millet discovered the PD2 Floor Lamp and saved it to begin a collaboration with Corsini where his design would receive more attention.
