Founded in 2004, Danish-Spanish OX Denmarq produces designer furniture in modern natural materials. Initially, it mainly produces products made of high-quality vegetable-tanned leather, wood and stainless steel. The collection later evolved to include furniture in marble, brass and copper. OX stands as a tribute to the unique leather and the animal it comes from.
The name, Denmarq, is a combination of co-founder and designer Dennis Marquart's name and his native Denmark.
Design tradition, quality materials and craftsmanship from Spain and Denmark are the cornerstones of the company. Using only the best materials to create unique, durable products, the company now produces tables, side tables, lounge chairs and chairs with a modern design language. The brand's philosophy is about aesthetics, simplicity and precision. Using natural resources from Argentina - the finest leather from the animals of the Pampas, they create unique leather products that only get better with age.
Popular products include the Papillion armchair, the O Table and the Prop and September bar stools. All furniture is made to stand the test of time and get a beautiful patina. The Papillion chair is also known as the bat chair. It was designed in 1938 by a Spaniard and two Argentinians. Since then, the armchair has spread all over the world and become an immensely popular favourite in modern homes. During the 1950s, the armchair became a symbol of the youth rebellion against a generation of parents who believed that young people should "sit properly", as the armchair gives rise to a very relaxed sitting position.
OX Denmarq uses four different high-quality marble stones in its designs: green Indio, white Carrara, sand-coloured Travertino and black Marquina. The stones come from India, Italy and Spain and become table tops in Madrid. If you take good care of your table from the brand, it will last a lifetime. Today, OX Denmarq continues to create durable, comfortable and modern furniture from the finest materials. If you buy anything from the brand, you can be sure that the product will look good for many years.
