The CH24 Nordic Gallery Exclusive Edition armchair has been developed in collaboration between Nordiska Galleriet and the Danish brand Carl Hansen & Søn. Our interpretation features a semi-matte black finish with a seat made of light natural-colored semi-aniline leather. The design classic CH24, also known as the Y-chair and The Wishbone Chair, is one of Hans J. Wegner's first and most acclaimed works for Carl Hansen & Søn. The armchair has been continuously produced in various versions since 1950. With its characteristic Y-shaped backrest, it is a widely used design icon around the dining table. Over 100 steps are required to manufacture a CH24, most of which are done by hand.
*Semi-aniline leather is cowhide with a thinner layer of protective surface treatment than pigmented leather, making it softer but also less resistant to dirt and stains. This type of leather, like aniline leather, is characterized by its natural appearance and good seating comfort. Semi-aniline leather is recommended when it is important to have a practical leather type without compromising on the soft and comfortable properties.
