La Basilica was designed in 1976 by Mario Bellini for the Italian design brand Cassina. The dining table was one of several pieces of furniture that were part of Bellini's period in the 70s where a new way of thinking emerged. A new era in his career where he created a more modern design language with function and a sophisticated expression in focus. In La Basilicia, this resulted in a clean, rectangular profile with a practical and artisanal design made in ash.
