Tobi-Ishi was developed in 2014 by design duo Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby for Italian B&B Italia and has been seen in exclusive interiors around the world. The simple but unique design consists of three large blocks that together form a harmonious set.
Designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby are remarkably familiar with Japanese culture and art, and Tobi-Ishi is clearly inspired by Zen. The name and concept behind the table comes from the round stones placed at ornaments in Japanese Zen trees, and the stones are called Tobi-Ishi.
Tobi-Ishi is available in a variety of designs, with rectangular table tops with round tops like this model. The table is also available in two exclusive finishes made entirely of white or black marble.
