Fritz Hansen's bestseller Series 7 was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1955 and comes here as a desk chair.3117 Series 7 follows the same design as the original, 3107, but the legs have been replaced by a chrome-plated height-adjustable base on wheels.

Series 7 is based on the same innovative manufacturing process as Jacobsen's classic Ant chair. The seat and backrest are created in one piece, consisting of nine layers of veneer layered with two layers of Indian cotton and pressed into shape over steam. This has given Series 7 its thin and stylish shell seemingly made of a whole piece of wood, the backrest can also be reclined which contributes to the elevated level of comfort. The chair is available in a range of woods and colors, with a stained, clear lacquered or fully lacquered finish. A stained finish allows the natural texture and grain of the wood to remain visible, making each chair unique. With a full varnish finish, every chair is identical. The assorted colors and wood types can be combined to advantage.

The Series 7 has become Fritz Hansen's best-selling chair of all time and has been launched in several versions. Nordiska Galleriet was the first retailer of Series 7 in Sweden, and the chair is still our best-selling piece of furniture today. The popularity of Series 7 is a testament to its iconic status, bringing together form, function, and modern design history to make it both a classic and a firm favorite with us.
