Vermelha is an enveloping armchair with an epoxy coated steel frame wrapped with a woven rope. Fernando and Humberto Campana designed the innovative armchair for Italian Edra and constructed it by hand. It takes several days and over five hundred meters of rope to weave the distinctive seat, which is first wrapped around the frame to create a stable structure and then woven in an overlapping pattern. The rope is made of cotton and has an acrylic core. Vermelha is available in black, red, silver, and gold with brushed aluminum legs.
